Achieving a Peaceful world (Shalom = Wholeness both spiritual and practical), requires – in addition to the spiritual knowing of our true selves through perceiving and accepting what is and living in the present – both self-control, according to an agreed upon civilizing moral standard, and control of government power.
There is moral hazard in the accumulation of too much power. Power corrupts and must be managed. This accumulation of power is most dangerous in governments because they have a monopoly on force and law.
In the original US system, a constitution limited the powers, granted to the central/Federal government, to only tasks that the States and the people were insufficient to accomplish on their own; such as national defense and facilitating interstate and international commerce.
Power was separated between three branches, the legislative,executive and judicial. In the legislative the States were represented in the Senate and the People in the House of Representatives – collectively called Congress. Only Congress could make laws. Only the States could collect taxes directly from people. This separated the power to allocate funds from collection of funds and minimized corruption.
The formation of Political parties, whose power could extend across the 3 branches, were warned against.
A stable Currency, immune from government manipulation, was established based on physical coins of gold and silver or certificates representing such a coin, deposited in the treasury.
All of these controls were broken over time and a government OVER the people, the oldest form of government, where the Elite rule and live off the servant population, reappeared.
The Society Project publishes educational material as to what’s wrong and a plan for restoration of a government OF the people in the USA which can also be used as an example for the rest of the world.
This project is dedicated to restoring the Constitutional Republic of the United States by educating, motivating and facilitating people to act to repair our society, through the Amendment process, before our society becomes another of the world’s failures.
We present educational material and the blueprint and plan of action for restoring America’s system of limited Government OF the people not ABOVE the people. We also present our Foundational American Values – because they are no longer self evident.
These American values are the standards upon which we have, and in the future must, base our individual and societal virtue.
It’s up to us. Will we be self-controlled and limit our government or serfs to be controlled by an ever more powerful government?
About: The author
The author spent his career solving the problems of major businesses, creating software and systems that not only save millions of dollars a year, but, even more importantly, make people’s work life easier and more productive. He was a founding partner in a company which is instrumental in streamlining the practice of medicine and helping both patients and Doctors cope with the problems created by government health care.
During an assignment on the 98th floor of the WTC in 1993, he experienced, first hand, the Islamic Terrorists’ nearly successful attempt to take down the WTC. He and tens of thousands of others were trapped in the building in darkness and choking smoke.
Seeing the government’s whitewashing denial of the root cause, the evil built into Islam, the deepening confusion of American values, the negative end results of unnecessary, and even immoral, government intervention, the deterioration of the US economy, widespread systemic government corruption and unchecked power, the author founded The Society Project to provide a blueprint for restoring our unique government Of the People, not Above the people, as it has become.
